Projects from ‘The Nest’

I hope you will enjoy a little look at some of the traditional and modern upholstery projects completed by students in the studio, from simple footstools, drop in dining seats and this rather wonderful upholstered sewing box to a fully sprung antique sofa - well on its way to a new life!

As well as the finished furniture, I’ve included some photographs of the work in progress, giving you a glimpse of what goes into traditional upholstery — from webbing and stuffing to hand stitching, shaping edges and building up the layers beneath the final fabric.
